Building Communication & Connection Through Tabletop Role-Playing Games (like Dungeons & Dragons!)

What if speech therapy looked different?

What if your child didn’t have to be convinced to go—because they wanted to?

Speech Quest is a group or 1:1 role-playing experience led by a licensed speech-language pathologist and certified therapeutic game master. Using games like Dungeons & Dragons, kids work on their individualized speech, language, and social skills while adventuring through storytelling and collaborative problem-solving.

Instead of “boring” therapy, Speech Quest feels like play.

Why Speech Quest Works

Through tabletop role-play, kids will:

  • Practice skills like narrative language, problem solving, perspective-taking, and emotional regulation.

  • Build real friendships through shared stories and teamwork.

  • Strengthen communication goals in a fun, motivating environment.

How It Works

  • Individualized focus: Goals are tied to each child’s IEP, plan of care, or unique needs. Groups are small (up to 4 players) or available 1:1.

  • Accessible play: Sessions are designed with visuals, objects, maps, breaks, and flexible supports. This is a fidget-friendly space!

  • Parent connection: Families receive progress updates, a story recap, and strategies to continue skill-building at home.

Who Can Join?

Speech Quest is for kids, teens, and young adults who:

  • Have communication-related IEP goals or challenges.

  • Benefit from structured, supportive opportunities to practice speech, language, or social skills.

  • Need a new way to connect.
